    This stunning sculpture depicts the Afro-Atlantic goddes of the oceans, Lasiren (the mermaid) by her Haitian name. The material is metal from recycled oil drums. Oil drum sculpture in Haiti originated in the 1950's, with the pioneering metal pieces by the now world famous artist Georges Liautaud.
